Simeon Burnett
Age: 15
Simeon enjoys nothing more than hanging out with MPs at the Houses of ParliamentSimeon, the younger of the two Burnetts, is about as far removed from his brother as is possible. If they didn’t look somewhat alike, you could easily think they weren’t related.
Unlike his rather polite, quiet brother, Simeon is always doing his best to get the attention of the world, whether it be writing and performing a rap for the Morden Baptistas keeper ‘Ninja’ Chris (see the ‘tistas website to hear this masterpiece) or singing Lily Allen’s Smile with Paul on a packed Northern Line train, he’s always making some sort of noise.
With his insane energy levels, mind boggling skills and surprising strength he often puts in match winning performances for the Baptistas. The relationship with good friend and duet partner Paul often leads to some wonderful attacking moves through the midfield.
Despite the obvious footballing talent Simeon has somehow ended up supporting Manchester United instead of West Ham even though he has lived in Plaistow all his life. Hopefully experiencing the satisfaction of pulling through the highs and lows of this ride will persuade him that supporting the Hammers is altogether more rewarding in the end.
Since joining Boys’ Brigade at the age of 5 and climbing the ranks, Simeon has cemented his place as one of the ‘characters’ of the group. Recent achievements include recruiting a fair few new members to the Swift and performing alongside his brother on the Swift Centre stage in a production of Scrooge (where he made everyone laugh as he keeps telling us).
Simeon is a regular at our summer camp and is now one of the most experienced campers. He is often entrusted with the role of Tent Commander allowing him to exercise his leadership and motivational skills, especially useful for Tent Inspection. Fortunately we also have Tent Seniors whose job it is to motivate the Tent Commanders.
Currently in his first year of GCSE's Simeon attends St Bonaventure's School in Forest Gate.
